Reinterpreting the History of Costa Rica through Digital Experience
Modertony is an innovative project that seeks to reinterpret the rich history of Costa Rica through elements of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design. To generate new contexts and awareness about Costa Rican culture, Modertony started as a modest Instagram account that shared posts from the National Archive of Costa Rica. What began as a simple conversation platform evolved into an immersive digital experience that attracts users of all ages.

Beginning as an Instagram Account: Modertony started as an Instagram account that shared posts from the National Archive of Costa Rica. The platform served as a starting point for generating conversations about the country's history and culture.
Evolution towards Digital Reinterpretation: Over time, Modertony evolved beyond simply sharing historical posts. Historical images began to be reinterpreted using digital design elements, adding a new dimension to the experience.
Discovery of Costa Rican Music: A key moment in the project was when the stories behind real popular Costa Rican songs and their artistic covers on platforms like Spotify began to be reinterpreted. This not only added a layer of interactivity but also attracted the attention of a wider audience, especially among the younger generations.
UI/UX Learnings and Historical Contextualization: Valuable learnings were obtained throughout the project in UI/UX design and historical contextualization of graphics and historical images for a digital audience. Beyond aesthetics, focusing on the user experience helped bring history to the younger generations in a meaningful and accessible way.
